Eight months is a funny age!

My sister & 8 month old niece came over to the new house the other day. It was a beautiful day & I really wanted to take come pictures, so my sister was more than willing to let her little eight month old model for me!!

We went out in my new backyard & I got some adorable shots in about 10 minutes!! She was so funny!!

I am inspired!!

There are SO many talented photographers out there that I could get "sad" that I'm not as good as they are, or that they are "taking my business", but I don't think like that!
I LOVE to look at other peoples' work & see what pose ideas & location ideas & props they use.
I become fans of ALL photography I see on facebook & I love seeing it!! I have seen SO many awesome ideas this week alone that I'm getting more & more excited about taking pictures of my family & friends!!

Thanks to all those photographers who inspire me!! You guys are awesome!!

Easter 2010

I took my girls out to the park for Easter pictures. I found that Hafer Park was the only place I could find with green grass & flowers considering it had snowed 3 days before!

I've really come kind of "full circle" here: it was 3 years ago that I wanted the girls Easter pictures made. My husband didn't want to spend money on more pictures (since I'm "picture crazy" he thought we had enough.) He suggested that I dress the girls up, take them to the park & take the pictures myself!! So I did & I loved it!! They turned out SO good!!

Churchwell family

I took my dear friends, Lance & Lisa Churchwell's family pictures for their Christmas card in 2009. I took those before I discovered picnik.com...I decided to edit & post some of my favs!

A new friend of mine told me about this cool red door at Kingsbury Ridge housing addition. I called my friend Lisa who has three girls & asked if she wanted to help me practice. Of course she said YES!! We got some really cute shots! I am really excitied about this location!

First blog!!

Hello everyone!! Welcome to my first blog for "Life Captured by Katy" photography.
I've always LOVED photography & loved taking tons of pictures!! My family always liked my "work" & that gave me confidence.

A friend of mine suggested we take a photography class together through Francis Tuttle. I was really excitied! Scott got me a Canon Rebel XSi SLR camera & I was set!!

My good friends, the Schmidt family, asked me to take their pictures for their Christmas card. I was delighted! We had a great time & when she posted the pictures to her facebook page, there was a "buzz".

I had several people ask me to take their pictures for Christmas cards & I was excited.

After a few months, I decided to go out on a limb & start a facebook fan page to display photos & now I'm starting a blog!:)

I hope I can keep it up!:)
